An off-road trail leading to one of the prominent peaks in the northern Judean Desert.
Identified as the biblical "Azazel" where the Yom Kippur scapegoat was thrown, Mount Montar offers wide panoramic views of the desert, the Judean Hills, and the Dead Sea region, with a unique sense of space and tranquility.
The drive combines flowing desert trails with scenic stops, making it especially suitable for those seeking classic, off-road driving and scenic views.
An exciting off-road trail leading to one of the most impressive sites in the Judean Desert: Mar Saba, a Greek Orthodox monastery approximately 1,500 years old, built on a steep cliff above the Kidron Valley.
Along the way, you’ll drive through riverbeds and desert viewpoints, until reaching a breathtaking lookout over the unique structure clinging to the rock – an experience that combines nature, history, and dramatic scenery.
